Well, this was a shocker. As most people know, I have Post Covid and I have some health issues because of that. Always tired, low energy, overstimulated etc.

But, for it seems it all went well so me and work thought it seemed like a good idea to take a course so that I would be more widely employable in my work. But within my own capacity, so no full time weeks but my regular hours spread over the whole week. At first it all went ok, it took a lot of energy and focus, but it seemed doable. The first week and a half I only had theory and after that I would start using it in practice. That’s where I started to get headaches, so me and my trainer talked about it and talked about rereading some of the study material if my head felt too much.

The last day of the course I had a massive migraine attack, but I really needed to be at work for some important stuff. And that’s where it went wrong. The day after the migraine was still there, so I called in sick for the day. It was on a Friday, so me and my manager talked about taking rest in the weekend so I could work again on Monday. That didn’t happen. I got muscle cramps and the headache was still there. Called the GP and got some heavy meds to kill the pain. I wasn’t working for 2 weeks. But all was good with work, I gave some updates and it was ok, needed to get the rest I needed.

After 2 weeks I started working again. Still headache, but manageable and I was very, very tired and low on energy. But I was working again, as one does. But I did feel I needed some help, so I called the GP again and made an appointment with a practice assistent. Well, it took 2 retries because this person had to reschedule but we did talk a bit on the phone and he started to use the term “burn-out”… I was pretty shocked, I mean, I have Post Covid, but am I also burnt-out?

Made a new appointment again with the GP and the conclusion is, you’re maybe on time or just to late, but there is indeed burn-out and you need to take action before it gets worse. Ok, well, slap in the face and called work and for now I am not working unfortunately. Have to wait for a call from the occupational health physician to make a plan so I can back to work, but within manageable terms and keeping the burn-out in mind.

So yeah, that’s pretty much it. Making new art is a struggle at the moment, don’t have the energy (yet) to make new stuff again, but that will come back sooner or later. For now it’s working on my physical and mental health.
